Expanding Frontiers Celebrates Success of the First NASA Tech Trek Hackathon

[Brownsville, Texas, July 19, 2024] — Expanding Frontiers is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the Cis Lunar Economy Hackathon, a cornerstone event in the NASA Tech Trek initiative. Held at our headquarters this past weekend, this milestone marks a significant achievement for both Expanding Frontiers and South Texas, marking it as the first of its kind in the state.

The Cis Lunar Economy Hackathon saw enthusiastic participation with the formation of five dynamic teams leveraging 14 NASA technologies. Judges were impressed by the creativity displayed in the innovative applications of NASA technologies explored during the event.

This achievement sets the stage for a series of upcoming events, including:

  • Earth Climate & Sustainability Hackathon/Bring your own challenge (July 26-27)
  • Startup Bootcamp 1: Team Integration and Development (August 16-17)
  • Startup Bootcamp 2: Company Formation, Tech Transfer and Licensing (September)
  • Startup Bootcamp 3: Business Plans, Slide Decks, and Funding (October)
  • Expanding Frontiers Space Tech Pitch Competition (November 20)
