Expanding Frontiers is looking for an enthusiastic customer service intern to provide customer support for space startup companies working with ExF. This is an excellent opportunity for recent undergrads that are hungry, quick learners, with a good attitude and preferably a passion for space. Day to Day they will likely spend a lot of time in Zendesk answering customer questions and directing incoming tickets to the right people to be solved. Potential to grow into a higher level position.
Expanding Frontiers (ExF) plays a key role in accelerating the growth of the space innovation ecosystem in Brownsville Texas. We provide novel educational experiences and hands-on training for students, veterans, and aspiring entrepreneurs so they can create new innovations and launch new startup ventures in the region.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
๏ Responding to incoming customer inquiries via live chat, email and phone
๏ Creating and updating support tickets, including escalating them when needed
๏ Ensuring all customer tickets are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
๏ Helping to improve existing customer experience workflows and processes
๏ Developing a strong understanding of crowdfunding industry regulations
๏ Drafting standard service agent responses including chat message scripts and emails
๏ Building out FAQs and adding to our customer support Knowledge Base
๏ Creating client success training resources and other internal documentation
๏ Helping the Ops Manager with other related ad hoc tasks as needed
ATTITUDES, SKILLS AND PRIOR KNOWLEDGE:
๏ Genuine desire to help people resolve problems and get the information they need
๏ Superior communication skills, both written and spoken
๏ Ability to work under pressure, think on your feet
๏ Strong project management skills and the ability to keep multiple plates spinning
๏ An eye for detail, and for not letting things fall through the cracks
๏ Ability to spot and articulate where there is room for process improvement
๏ Quick study and hunger to learn
๏ Collaborative, team player with a flexible approach and “no job too small” mentality
COMPENSATION: $10 – $12.5 per hour.
LOCATION: The position will be fully remote to start with, though candidates may be required to work from the Expanding Frontiers building when it is safe to do so.
