Space Coders
Among the most in-demand skill sets for emerging space and technology startups is software engineering. In order to meet that demand, Expanding Frontiers has launched the Space Coders Program, a network of developers experienced in writing code in a variety of programming languages. The program places special emphasis on developers experienced with complex simulations, data visualization and analysis functions, software, and mobile apps.
Developers in the Space Coders program are vetted and approved by Expanding Frontiers. They are available for project-based work, or to provide longer-term ongoing support, depending on the available opportunities.
If selected to participate in the Space Coders program, developers will be among the first to be considered to support a wide variety of startups in the NewSpace and Energy industries that are part of the Expanding Frontiers network. ExF will match developers with the most exciting and appropriate software engineering project-based opportunities available based on skillset, experience, and drive.

Yes, many of the developers in the Space Coder Network have other jobs and only take on projects when appropriate.
No, but many do. Some Space Coders are from the Valley and live elsewhere. Especially with the way that COVID-19 has altered work norms, it is less important that someone be in a physical area or office space.
Expanding Frontiers reviews all applications submitted by prospective Space Coders. Then ExF staff review code samples and, in some cases, speak to references in order to select approved Space Coders.
